sometime in the early 2000's i was hanging out at my friend TC and he was telling me about this guy who would come into the music store he worked at. He was one of those condescending older dudes who talks like he knows everything about music and you're lucky he's telling you how it is in the biz. After a few boasting sessions TC decided to ask him for a CD, he was happy to hand over a copy of Songs To Die By, Vol.1

By the packaging you might still believe this killer metal album by some wingnuts who's brilliance has gone undiscovered for years due to them never leaving their hometown. What you get is something almost as good; an amateurish, poorly recorded mess with juvenile lyrics worthy of some occasional Howard Stern show airplay.
Most of the songs are horror gore themed except: I Am An American, a somewhat articulate message to Al Quaeda and Saddam. I Lost My Girl, A ballad about losing your girlfriend to a drunk driver set to the tune of "Little drummer boy" which i have a feeling is made up. I almost forgot, two homophobic jams called Gay Cop Named Steve and There's a Party in His Butt and all the Men are Coming which you should just hear for yourself.
Last I heard these guys broke up. Supposedly, the guitarist thought strongly that it was time to go opera, but the singer thought that it wasn't yet time to go opera having only released one album. The disagreement split up the band sending Ken, Brent and their studio drummer in different creative directions, meaning there will never be a Songs To Die By, vol.2

Oh yeah, if you like what you hear you can hire Ken to produce your bands next album, or maybe write some lyrics for those new riffs you're working on. As of now thier Website is still up. Don't miss their Blog section which has a well written essay about how bothersome the 4 or 5 homeless people in redwood city are. And don't forget to check out the "18 & over" section full of dead links to anal porn.
