A Darker Shade Of Grey

Grimple was one of the first bands i saw live, and one of the best. A friend and I went to Gilman to see Grimple expecting to hear the stuff off of "Up Yer Ass", but instead we saw a far darker, scarier version of Grimple from the era of this 12". They looked like they were on tons of speed, and whenever the singer stopped singing he started beating his tattooed head with the microphone. During the breakdowns they'd throw giant handfuls of Pop-Pops into the crowd (trust me it looked cool with the lights real low). This shits Every bit as fast and intense as thier earlier stuff, but with a hardened black metal influenced roar. I bought this record and listened the shit out of it. It was also my introduction to Celtic Frost with their cover of "Dethroned Emperor". The Logical Nonsense side took a while to grow on me. It sounds so slow compared to the grimple side and was too boring for my ADD riddled mind at the time. Now a days it's rather fast compared to half the stuff in my music collection.

Like Fuck!
