The biggest shit in local music right now seems to be bands comprised of a drummer a keyboardist and a singer. Boss Fight is a 2 piece band that fits in with this formula, but doesn't play the kind of music you'd hear in a target commercial like the rest of the flock. They're quirky and origional with clever lyrics and Casio riffs reminiscent of 8bit video games like Castalvania and Metroid. Oh yeah, they're keeping it real and hailing outta San Mateo too.
I asked them if they had any records for sale. They said they had a tape. When I said "I'll take it!" and they popped a single tape out of walkman and sold it to me without a cover or case. When I listened to it later I realized that this was a tape of the show that i saw that night. How's that for some fucking merch!
